INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING THE 50 SLIDES FOR MARY'S
GARDENS SLIDE LECTURE #3 IN 6" FORMAT, WITH SEPARATE
NARRATION TEXT, FOR SEQUENTIAL PROJECTION WITH
COMPUTER SLIDE PROJECTOR - FOR GROUPS



ACCESS PROJECTON SLIDES ON MARY'S GARDENS WEBSITE

 1 - In Browser, access Mary's Gardens Home Page at:

               www.mgardens.org
          
 2 - Click index link to:

               OVERVIEW/Introductory Slide Show

     to open Page 1 of Slide Show #3 (computer viewing
     version)

 3 - On Page 1 click link to open:

               50 6" Slides for Computer Projection 

 4 - Click link to Slide #1

    (Slide #1 displayed)
   
 5 - Press/hold pointer on slide image to open pop-up menu
        -  Choose "Download image to disk" on pop-up menu
        -  Click "New Folder" button
        -  Name new folder/directory "SlideShow #3_files"
        -  Save Slide #1 to folder/directory

 6 - Repeat procedure (5) for slides #2 through #50
 
 7 - (If you have Microsoft Internet Explorer v. 5 browser
     and Broad Band Internet access speed, the slides can be
     accessed from the website as a PowerPoint slide show,
     and the 50 slides opened for downloading, as in (5) and
     (6), by simple successive pointer clicking.)


OPEN POWERPOINT IN COMPUTER


 8 - Open PowerPoint in Computer

 9 - Choose Menu Command "Insert"/"Slides from File"
     to load the 50 files saved in "SlideShow 
     #3_files" into PowerPoint.

     (1st Slide and list of 50 slides displayed in 
      Control Window)

10 - Choose Menu Command "Format"/"Background" to
     select desired background color for displayed
     slides.

11 - Choose Menu Command "Slide Show"/"Slide
     Transition" to select desired transitions
     between slides

12 - Choose Menu Command "Slide Show"/"View Show"
     to display Slide #1

13 - Click on each displayed slide to open the
     next - going quickly through the 50 slides
     to make sure they are OK.

14 - Save as MG SlideShow #3.ppt

15 - Go back to Page 1 of Slide Show #3 (computer viewing
     version)

16 - Click link to:

               Narration Text

17 - Click/Choose "Save As/Text"

18 - Adjust font size and text spacing on pages for ease
     in reading during projection of slides.

19 - Print
                                 


PRESENT SLIDE SHOW WITH COMPUTER, PROJECTOR & SCREEN,
OFF-LINE


20 - Set up computer, projector and projection screen

21 - Click/open the slide show in PowerPoint:

               MG SlideShow #3.ppt

     (Slide #1 displayed in half size, with clickable list
     of 50 slides)

22 - From PowerPoint Slide Show Menu click "Slide
     Show"/"View Show"

     (Slide #1 displayed full size).

23 - Give Narration (text or original) for Slide #1, and
     click pointer on screen to advance to each new slide
     and narration.

     (After Slide #50, opening screen is displayed again)

24 - Suggest choosing "View Show" again and clicking
     through the 50 slides again, silently without
     narration, so audience will view and reflect on the
     flowers and their symbolism as they would in the
     Mary Garden.
